Havmeen Hearing Lab

Is your hearing aid dead, whistling, cutting out, or just not sounding clear? You do not have to send it away for weeks or pay for a brand-new device.

Havmeen Hearing Lab repairs hearing aids in-house at our Richardson lab, serving customers across Fort Worth and the wider Dallas–Fort Worth area. We repair all major brands and models, whether your device is two years old or twenty years old. Fort Worth customers can drive over to the lab, or use our mail-in repair service — whichever is easier.

Drive In or Mail It In — Your Choice

Our lab is in Richardson, on the other side of the Metroplex from Fort Worth. Some Fort Worth customers make the drive when they want their aid seen in person — and repaired the same day when parts are in stock; others simply mail the aid in and let us handle the rest. Both routes end at the same in-house lab, the same technicians, and the same price.

If we have the necessary parts available, we can often repair your hearing aid the same day you visit. If you mail it in, your aid gets the same treatment once it reaches us — same-day when parts are in stock — plus shipping time each way. See how mail-in hearing aid repair works, or read our how to ship instructions before you post your aid.

Getting to the Lab From Fort Worth

Richardson is roughly 40 miles northeast of downtown Fort Worth. Most drivers come across on I-30 or TX-183 and up the President George Bush Turnpike — typically about 45 to 60 minutes outside rush hour, whether you are setting out from the Stockyards, the Near Southside, West 7th, or out toward Benbrook and Lake Worth. Because it is a real drive, many Fort Worth customers call us first so we can check whether the parts their aid needs are on the shelf before they set out. If the timing does not work, mail-in gets you the same bench, the same technicians, and the same $275 price without the trip.

What We Repair

  • Hearing aids that will not turn on or have stopped working
  • Broken wires, speakers, microphones, and battery doors
  • Whistling, distortion, weak sound, and cutting out
  • Cracked cases and re-casing (ear impression required)
  • Cleaning and maintenance to keep your aids working longer

We do not change your hearing aid programming during a repair unless you ask us to. If you want programming adjusted, we will need an up-to-date audiogram.

One Clear Price

  • $275 per hearing aid repair, with a 6-month warranty on the parts we repaired
  • Re-casing is priced after we see the device — we will call you with an estimate first
  • If any additional charges come up, we contact you for authorization before proceeding

Why is our price lower? Because your aid never leaves our building. A typical Fort Worth hearing office does not repair aids on site — it boxes yours up, sends it off to the manufacturer, and charges $600 per repair for doing so. We do the bench work ourselves in Richardson, so Fort Worth customers pay the lab’s own $275 price instead of the marked-up one.

A note on programming: programming is typically included with a repair when you ask for it. If you only need programming and no repair, standalone programming is $100 for 1 aid or $150 for 2 aids. Professional cleaning is available too — call us for the current price — and express return shipping for mail-in repairs is $44.99.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you repair my brand?

Yes. We repair all major brands, including Phonak, Starkey, Oticon, Widex, ReSound, Siemens, Beltone, and many more, regardless of age.

How fast is the repair?

Same-day when parts are available — for walk-ins, and for mail-in aids once they arrive at the lab. Add shipping time each way for mail-ins.

What does the 6-month warranty cover?

The warranty covers just the parts we repaired — nothing else on the aid. So if we fit a new speaker, that speaker carries the 6-month cover; the rest of the hearing aid does not.

Can I just get a cleaning?

Yes. Many problems that sound like a broken aid are wax, moisture, or debris. A professional cleaning often restores sound quality — call us for the current cleaning price.

Is it worth the drive from Fort Worth?

For most people, yes — because the alternative in Fort Worth is usually a hearing aid office that boxes your aid up and ships it to the manufacturer, then charges about $600 for the repair. Here, the people you hand your aid to are the people who repair it, and when the parts are in stock the repair is done the same day. If the drive does not fit your week, mail-in is the same repair at the same price.
